Expert speakers will examine:
European Union Policy: A speaker from the European Commission will explain
the EU's current work and thinking on international data transfers.
Safe Harbor and US Federal Trade Commission Policy: An expert speaker will
examine the FTC's current enforcement policy and explain their approach to
the US Safe Harbor programme as a valid alternative.
Model Contracts: A legal expert will look at the new model clauses approved
by the EU Commission for transfers of data outside the EEA, explore the
benefits of this set of clauses compared to the previous version and examine
what they do and don't cover.
Binding Corporate Rules: For companies transferring data globally, binding
corporate rules are becoming a very attractive and realistic proposition.
Our expert speaker will examine how the rules work in practice, what needs
to be done to obtain authorisation and the prospect of a pan-European
approval process.
The International Data Transfer Summit, which is being organised by
e-commerce Law & Policy and Data Protection Law & Policy will take place in
London on Thursday 12 May.
