This is not true. The credit reference agencies (which the granting
companies use to verify residency, etc) can have the full register, so long as they do
not use it for marketing or customer profiling (eg Mosaic) purposes. Ticking
the box on the ER form will NOT affect your ability to get credit, it will
only reduce the amount of junk mail you get.
