Anyone been considering making FOI applications to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) as to extent of their work schedules on monitoring the financial services industry.
Those of you who may have studied FOI content in detail I wonder if you could share knowledge / make observations on whether example questions below would be valid requests under FOI and what sort of charges can be made by the authority .
a) What does the FSA cost to run?
b) How much funding is drawn from public purse directly and how much is levied on financial services sector (indirectly causing charges to consumers by increasing costs).
c) How many actual monitoring visits are made per annum and to which companies/sectors. (Is there a public list?)
d) What are the cost of such visits
e) Is there a standard quality checklist used for consistency?
f) Who are the expert training sources used to ensure investigatory staff understand Data Protection interaction (ie where gaining access to consumer records held by regulated companies)
Any observations / feedback appreciated
