Although the title used could be a compound misuse for political reasons, or
merely use of the nomenclature of the 1984 act rather than the more
informative and allegedly more effective, in date and accurate 1998 act, it
does cause pause for thought; was their briefing such that full information
was available, or is their true focus on other things.
Speculating I wonder if their proposed financial cut backs would affect FOI,
the DP notification process or the less popular investigative side. Most of
the media are likely to focus on those portions immediately obvious to them
and let the rest slip behind their back.
