Brenda
Our accounts are availabel for viewing from late July/early August for
about 3 weeks following a two week notice period. The regs clearly
state that the public have, as part of that process, access to the
supporting books, bill, vouchers etc.
No one in recent years has inspected - even the draft statement of
accounts. If anyone did we would question the DP implications e.g. if
someone inspect the draft accounts and asked to see the payroll system
with peoples' salary levels we would not disclose that and of course,
there are similar arguments with the examples you quote.
I would therefore blank out any personal information.
Regards,
Doreen

Subject: Personal data on invoices
The LA's accounts are available for viewing by law for a set period each
year. Our accounts department has raised the fact that invoices from
Solicitors will have the names Bloggs vs Jones on them for example.
Also, that with clothing grants for school children, the childs name and
school are detailed on the invoice.
I would think that any names should be blanked out before being made
available for public viewing, and a copy so amended be available to
view.
