I wonder if anyone can advise me on the following:
Our postgraduate students' (research) dissertations now have to include
evidence of any ethical approval process: a process which would appear to
be a 'public' endeavour
This 'evidence' may include letters from the Local Research Ethics
Committee with named committee members and letters from specific Acute or
Primary Care Trusts, line-managers or heads of departments.
Our students are always advised to anonymise all research participants but
are there any Data Protection issues with appendices which are clearly not
anonymised? Dissertationswith such appendices will placed in the library
and therefore will be in the public domain.
Have others come across this issue? How have you handled it please?
