The argument for a spare should not be considered because the same argument could be applied to every DSA allocation ever made. Supplying two computer systems - one in case of a breakdown.
My experience with digital aids is that they are reasonably reliable and even the Access to Work funding would not even consider such expense.

Subject: digital hearing aids as part of DSA {OCC Scanned}
Has anyone had experience of recommending a digital hearing aid as part of a student's DSA? The student in question has a pair but says she needs a spare in case one breaks down.
Thanks for your help.
