Ah the local GUM/Sexual Health Clinic will never do this because they only
deal face to face or by phone with the unique identification number you are
given when you attend.
How do I know this? Well, like all sensible adults who were once "sensible
kids" I've been to one. And I also give sexual health advice to young
people and have to know this stuff. But your point is well made.
The only reason I'm mentioning this here is in case anyone on this list is
put off from visiting the GUM service, which is anonymous by Act of
Parliament (unless referred by your GP, oddly)

There is also the problem of what happens when the local VD clinic emails
the ex employee confirming his next appointment. (If you want extreme
examples to get you thinking).
I would also be looking at the law of Interception of Communications, and
any guidance about Lawful Business Practice, as well as the more mundane DPA
stuff. On a private network (which will almost certainly be the case) the
offence should not be criminal, however.
Some organisations simply cancel the email account, bounce the email, and
leave it up to the initiative of the correspondent to find a new person to
email.
