I'm looking at this and thinking it through a little more.
A "list" seems to me to be a relatively useless item. It's something that
has a "notice board" feel about it.
Surely the better purpose is served with a "Violent" marker on the file only
for those who need to know to see? I know we've had discussions over this
before here.

Subject: [data-protection] Producing a list of Dangerous 'Customers'
Hi - this is my first ever post though I am a regular visitor to the board.
My organisation wishes to produce a list of potentially aggressive/dangerous
customers to ensure the safety of our home visitors and other staff who may
be in contact with these people. Does the Data Protection Act allow me to do
this and if so what level of information will I be able to include?
I am aware that we could be producing a list practically accusing people of
violence etc and I am very wary of doing this though I do believe we owe a
duty of care to our employees.
Thanks
Steve
