Why always DPA1998 (and the poor, overworked DPO) that gets blamed for
restrictions on information sharing?
How often do we have to repeat every time we respond to consultation that it
is the limitations on vires through primary legislation which make proposed
information sharing unlawful under DPA1998?
What makes the e-envoy think that the government can change data protection
legislation - now or after the next general election - when the issues
around fairness, lawfulness, privacy, etc come from EU directive?
As I understand it, the directive was about "facilitating the free flow of
information within / across the European Economic Area whilst maintaining
the individual's right to respect for privacy and protection of personal
data" - why do so many people see that as a negative?
OK - getting back down off my soapbox!
