We don't print names in sports day programmes up here - goes by class but we
do have consent from parents to print photos or show videos etc.
My children have always known who their friends are ..might not have known
how to spell their names but whoever was invited - an invitation would be
given to them by my child. Sorry, our schools are run by the Council up
here and staff are certainly not paid to provide parents with lists of
childrens' names and addresses so that they can invite them to a party - our
CT papers would be up in arms if they thought such a thing was happening!!!
(I do say this with tongue in cheek!!)

Tim,
Blimey - Your wife's taking her teacher role a bit far - bringing
you DP
homework to do! ;-)
Surely all the list is doing is allowing the parent to get the
correct
spelling of forenames in the class. The parent's child knows their
classmates names - but not how to spell them (breach of principle 4
by a 4
year-old, I think not).
Not a problem - give it out...
... or are we (the list) going to get into the no names in sports
day
programmes, no names in nativity play programmes etc. etc. debate?
Paul
