I have now created the rule. So, everyone who sets "out of office" and
vanishes on vacation will receive a polite and educational message.
It'll be amusing if this message generates a deluge back to forgetful
people.

OK, I have a rule that sends all this stuff to the manure pile, but some
people create "out of office" rules that just don't comply.
It's slipshod and downright rude to the rest of us. And, even when you get
asked this regularly, you STILL persist in this behaviour.
To those other souls who are still at work, I apologise for my rant. Those
who took the nanosecond to "set * nomail" will not see this, but I drink
to"Absent friends". The rest? May your mailboxes overflow and your first
day back at work be blessed with 1,000,000 message mailboxes, none of it
identifiable as spam.
I may set a rule to intercept the out of office rubbish which mails the
originator with precise instructions. Probably on how to use the list
commands.
