Dear Colleagues,
You may be aware there is a new student support system (PROTOCOL) being
introduced by the Student Loans Company and DfES which all LEAs will have
to use to process student support from April 2004. As I understand it,
PROTOCOL is a web-based 'national' system being populated by 'local' data.
Our LEA is currently in the process of migrating its data and is scheduled
for a final migration on 28 October, to go live 4 November.
We haven't yet has sight of the back to back agreement with the SLC, and
I'm being asked if we can proceed on the basis that it's a government
requirement for all LEAs to do this and that the DfES audit requirements
outrank those of the LEAs.
I'm stuck! Has anyone been asked for similar advice and could help please?
