Um, I must be missing something here because I find myself agreeing
with St John (who is often right, but it doesn't do to admit it).  I
thought we were talking about use, e.g., line rental, cable connection,
whatever.  Aside from anything else, this is not eleventy gazillion
pounds.  If it is a hideous burden on the living costs of students,
shouldn't they put it down for an access award?  Then all students
would be able to make the same claim and the appropriate
folks in universities could decide what was fair and not trouble awards
officers.  Otherwise, why not have students claiming that they've been
overclocking like crazy, need superfast fans and water wells and get
the DSA to pay their increased lecky bill?  I await the ritual beating
from my colleagues in ACCESS and access.
