Getting off DP issues ...
>Being a confirmed conspiracy theorist I can't help but wonder if this is
quite deliberate in order to prevent it ever coming to trial - on the
grounds that they can't possibly have a fair trial because of the media
coverage. (The media coverage that they have fed and encouraged...)
Previous cases where the courts have found a fair trial was prejudiced have depended on prejudicial material generated by other people. As with the DP issues, I think it would be difficult to argue that material they have published and spread themselves (e.g. through news conferences) could be prejudicial to their rights to a fair trial since they have chosen to publish or draw attention to it. If in the post-Human Rights Act era it is prejudicial, every person under suspicion will have a new range of options!
