I would like to know what security measures other institutions are
recommending for manual filing systems containing sensitive personal
data/other personal data, particularly out of office hours. All our records
are of course kept in locked accommodation but this is accessible by e.g
contractors such as cleaning staff. All student files have personal data so
as a minimum should they all be in locked filing cabinets, even where no
sensitive data is included?. A clear desk policy seems a good idea too but
would be an enormous culture change. What are other's practices?
