Continuing on this theme. If the Electoral Roll is a public document
available 'for sale' (including electronic format) can an ERO 'sell' it to
their own Authority? Can the Authority then use the data as it requires so
long as it has notified for that purpose without notifying the data subject?
It seems slightly odd that mailing companies can get hold of this data and
use it to keep Postman Pat in a job without breaking the law, but if
relevant authorities want to use the data for other purposes they will be
breaking the law.
