Apologies to those of you who not directly
have this problem but of course you may
have views and advice in a similar context!
It seems that we get a great deal of enquiries
from student sponsors, be they employers, local
authorities both in the uk and abroad. They
all suggest that they can get access by default
to a student's progress file and marks etc.
I have suggested that specific contracts need to be
drawn up between either employee/student and their
sponsoring body and give us proof of consent
or my colleagues are asking if we can include
a general clause to cover this without specific
consent (maybe a request is received then we
woldn't need to review the situation with the
data subject I guess)
How have others handled this and reviewed
corporate 'fair processing conditions' etc.?
