a. it is hereditary;
b. in 25 years time it will be curable if discovered early;
c. your son does not know.
etc etc
Do you have the right to in let your son die, because by the time the medics
disovered what he was suffering from it would be too late to do anything
about it?

If it was a transmitted disease (eg. HIV) would you be arguing the same
line? In both instances the outcome is the same as there is no cure.
