As this is a data protection forum I naturally assumed the DP Act would have
been the first place to look - sorry!

I love sections without knowing what they are a section of! Being a
diligent kind of chap I looked it up on Google. (OK, maybe I should know,
but it's been a long week, and one day of it I was giving a DP course)
Google hit 286,000 possible locations all headed by Section 28 of the Local
Government Act. There then followed The Fisheries Act (1925), the Safety
Health and Welfare at work act 1989.....
The I found it. "CRIMES AGAINST CHASTITY, MORALITY, DECENCY AND GOOD ORDER.
Chapter 272: Section
28"
That just *has* to be the one. It seems the most sinister!

OK, Emma, I hope you have a sense of humour. It *is* Friday, after all.
And it isn't a dig at you, nor at your organisation, you just tweaked my
giggle muscle!
"would certainly not process data for an unnecessary purpose, sinister or
otherwise."
Does this mean that there can be "necessary sinister purposes"? Who wants
to provide us with a list?
