Just to correct the information in Dave Laycock's earlier email:
The ruling on part-time DSAs for students 'normally domiciled' in
Scotland has already become effective - ie. it affects students THIS
year (1999). Dave suggested that it would become effective from October
2000. We have already been in discussions with SAAS (Student Awards
Agency for Scotland) about the possible impact on numbers of students
who consequently become eligible for assistance through DSA. Colleagues
south of the border therefore have the advantage of being able to 'watch
this space' for at least a year to see how we get on.
