Lucinda & co
You are very welcome to have a look at what Sussex have done in this
area - http://www.susx.ac.uk/Units/dpo/
In fact, I'd be grateful for feedback, as there are points where I am not
confident at all that I've correctly understood the new act. (Especially in
relation to the data subject's right to access references written about
them - where other people's interpretation of the 1998 Act differs from
my reading.)
And a prize will be awarded to anyone who can explain to me the import
of the section on Confidential References in the AoC publication 'DP in
the Education Sector - a Guide for Good Practice' - p27 of this otherwise
very useful document. What the final crucial sentence actually says
doesn't make sense, and what it seems to be trying to say is hopefully
wrong!
