C
Home page privacy statement generator.
The OECD has produced a privacy statement generator which you can test
drive. Basically the generator is an educational tool designed to help
businesses create draft privacy policies; it uses information about "their
data collecting habits" to produce a policy which can then be posted on
their own Web site. The Generator is a beta version which has been placed
online for a public testing period; after this period, it will be discussed
at the next meeting of the Working Party on Information Security and Privacy
and it is likely that a final version will be developed next year. Although
the deadline has officially just passed the Generator is still available on
the OECD Web site so that comments from the public can still be considered.
The Generator is available on the site
<http://www.oecd.org/scripts/PW/PWHome.ASP> together with notes on
background information there as well as the tool itself. Any comments you
have (e.g. is it a useful concept, or not) would be greatly appreciated by
them; send them to <[log in to unmask]>.

P.S. Has anyone got any interesting "data collecting habits" they wish to
share
