Transforming Ideas about Disability!
PROJECT OFFICER: "IDEAS" Integrating Disability in Educational Arenas
Under its Learning Support for Students with Disabilities Initiative, the Scottish
Higher Education Funding Council has awarded funding for three years for a project -
“IDEAS” put forward by a consortium of the Robert Gordon University, the University of
Stirling, the Northern College, and the University of Aberdeen.
Using these institutions as pilot sites, the project aims to develop methods of
integrating disability issues within mainstream institutional practices. Organisational
development and change management processes will be used to achieve the aims of the
project and there will be a major dissemination element which will affect all Scottish
Higher Education Institutions.
A project officer based in the Centre for Learning and Professional Development in the
University of Aberdeen, is being recruited to promote and implement the project.
You should be a graduate or have equivalent professional experience and have worked on
projects with a series of deadlines to be met. You must have well-developed
inter-personal, written and oral communication skills, a flexible approach to work and
be a good teamworker. Ideally you will also have a range of other experience which will
cover some or all of the following areas: dealing with disability issues; working in
higher education or the public sector; and staff development or internal consultancy.
