TextAssist on its own is not suitable for a totally blind student,
they need a screen reader.
You'll need a Windows 95 screen reader. These are fairly new. I
believe JAWS for Windows 95 is now available. Cheap it is not!
I think it costs about UKP 600. Available from Sight & Sound
Technology 01604 798070.
There are others available and you maybe persuaded to buy another to
retain compatibility with the existing external speech synth. (Do
you know what it is?).
JAWS will work with TextAssist, but TextAssist will only run
on a real Creative Labs Soundblaster. There are very few notebooks
that have this level of compatibility.
