Dear all
There is apparently a proposal for an amendment in the DP Bill under 87A as follows:
After Clause 26
LORD CLEMENT-JONES
LORD STOREY
87A Insert the following new Clause—
“Data protection officer: schools
Where a school maintained by a local authority is unable to designate a data
protection officer, the relevant local authority must designate a data protection
officer for that school or any group of schools maintained by that local
authority.”
If it went through, do you think that as it says must, we would have to do it for free as part of our legal obligation rather than charging schools under a traded service as we do now for DP support?
