Many thanks to all who responded to my shout out - apologies for the delay. Here is a quick (anonymous) collation of responses from this and the FOI/Records Management list.
Kind regards, Lynn

Subject: [data-protection] DPO - where does it sit?
Dear All,
Could you let me know where DP responsibilities sit within your organisation please? I am particularly interested in universities but would welcome any other comments too.
At LJMU, our DPO sits within the Secretariat (falling under Legal and Governance). Does this fall under IT for any others?
Many thanks, Lynn
