Andrew,
I have just gone through similar thought processes.
I do not have the ISEB and have been looking at courses with a GDPR element, for obvious reasons.
To cut a long story short I signed up for the CIPP/E on the basis that it is an internationally recognised certification and membership of the IAPP which comes free with signing. Membership brings some good benefits - free webinars discussing key GDPR topics, for example given by respected international practitioners with something interesting to say.
I avoided the others because:
ISEB - will need to be updated at some point, unknown as to future benefits didn't feel it would have the GDPR at its core
Other third party "certification" - I found that there were a number of courses that claim to certify you as a "GDPR Practitioner" or "GDPR Professional", or similar; but I was not convinced as to the validity or professional weight of these.
Very happy with the route I am taking at the moment and being Europe wide with the IAPP being worldwide, it's a little more outward looking, I feel.
Hope that helps.
Simon Howarth.

Good afternoon everyone,
I have an opportunity to upgrade/refresh my old ISEB DP and was wondering what people's thoughts were on the various options out there e.g. IAPP CIPP/E, GDPR Practitioner, DP Practitioner etc.
Thanks in advance.
