Hi all,
Some service users make audio recordings (sometimes overtly, often covertly) of their interactions with local authority colleagues. This is accepted (sometimes reluctantly), what with the 'domestic purposes' exemption and all that.
However, what the service users sometimes then wishes to do is present those recordings to the LA as evidence to support a complaint, a request for services, or something similar.
My question is, in the light of Lindqvist et al and, taking the ICO's CCTV code of practice as a guide to the limits of 'domestic purposes', is this likely to fall outside the domestic purposes exemption?
I have my own thoughts but the forum's, as always, would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew
