ADSHE Administrator Job Description
Applications are invited for the post of part-time administrator/s for ADSHE, the national organisation which represents specialists working with students with specific learning difficulties in Higher Education. ADSHE seeks to define and encourage best practice in this interesting field.
This position will suit an enthusiastic, unflappable individual with excellent IT skills who is prepared to work flexibly.
The administrator will act as the first point of contact for members’ queries; will support the executive; and will help coordinate events and other activities.
Duties include but not limited to:
Membership:
The administrator will be responsible for updating and consolidating membership databases (Google sheets), processing membership applications and quality assurance processes, and answering membership email queries. This will include support for ADSHE’s 10 Regional Groups
Finance:
The chief responsibilities cover invoicing (Kashflow software) for membership and events. A short period of handover between the current administrator and the successful applicant/s is planned.
Meetings:
Minute taking at executive meetings - approximately 5 weekdays a year plus September AGM (Saturday), in addition to other administrative functions around meetings.
Events:
Events include the Annual ADSHE Conference, 2 x CPD Days and other training. The administrator will work closely with the sub-committees and executive officers and be expected to attend these events as part of their duties.
Communications & Publicity:
The administrator will act as the first point of contact for members and other external enquiries (Gmail). They will create publicity materials from content provided by Executive members.
Systems, Documentation and Storage:
The administrator will oversee all cloud based systems including Google Drive (Documents and Storage), Kashflow (Finance) and Basecamp (Project Management).
Essential Skills:
* Confidence in working with IT and cloud technology (training provided).
* Competent minute taking skills (using personal laptop).
* Good organisational skills (admin and events).
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills - oral and written.
* Candidates should demonstrate an awareness of the impact of equality and diversity legislation.
Additional information:
The administrator is expected to attend approximately 5 meetings each year plus the Annual Conference (June) and 2x CPD Day events (Saturdays - September and January).
Hours and terms of employment:
The Administrator is expected to work flexibly for approximately 15 hours per week but this will increase considerably at particularly busy times, such as Conference.
This post is offered on a Self Employed basis at an hourly rate of £15. This Self Employed basis will require you to complete an independent self assessment tax return.
