I believe you are over thinking. The police have made a request. Providing you are satisfied and remain satisfied that the s29 criteria (or other) are met by the terms of the alert you can process personal data to make a disclosure. There is nothing time limited in s29. It simply dis-applies certain requirements if at any time you think the conditions are met.
Having said that a simple 'missing person' meets s29 requirements ... You would need some other basis for processing
