There was an interesting scenario that went viral a few years ago when a young lad in Australia gleefully announced on Facebook that he was taking a sickie from work after a heavy session the night before - unaware that his manager had seen his FB account. A few days later back in the office he emailed his manager to have his day off counted as sick leave, but his manager refused stating that he would have to take it as standard annual leave. On arguing that he had been genuinely ill that day his manager then emailed him some vital evidence - a screenshot of his Facebook posting - with words to the effect of "I think this would appear to prove otherwise".
On social media one reaps what one sows...

You may like to consider the discussion here and the articles referred to : http://tinyurl.com/l6gqlsg
But also be clear this WOULD meet the RIPA serious crime test. Sentence under s1 Fraud Act 2006 : on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to a fine ... on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or to a fine (or to both).
Six month + sentences for deliberate insurance fraud are far from unusual.
