Differences I can think of off the top of my head:
Pass rate for undergrad is usually 40%, postgrad usually 50%
Reading quantity is much higher
Quality of work in terms of content, structure and analysis has to be higher
Students are expected to have read much more widely and sought out their
own research.
If you can tell us what the undergrad and postgrad courses were that can
help. They aren't always the same. I tend to go back to the course
webpages and look for comparisons in learning outcomes and delivery or
assessment modes.
Hope this is some help, sympathies too cos I have had a student who needed
a top up assessment cos between undergrad and postgrad they gained a lot
of self awareness about their impairment (deafness in this case) and
despite the courses being different undergrad was biosciences and postgrad
was computer sciences SFE were a total pain about it. Took me 3 months and
several rounds of complaining and an independent Teacher of the Deaf
report about how his undergrad support wasn't adequate for his needs now
he realised he was losing out... Don't know if there's anything on that
line you can take.
