We have a data protection section on the Council's intranet which gives guiadance on the Act and Council procedures (together with standard letters to use in relation to subject access requests). We keep (well try to) the guidance etc up to date. We also circulate general advice to contact officers in each department so that they can pass on urgent items. Finally DP is an item on the agenda of our Information Governance Board which acts as a more formal methiod of circulation. We used to have a newsletter on FOI/DP issued on a periodical basis but that stopped due to pressure of having to do real work.
As you can imagine we also deal with ad hoc queries but we keep in mind whether they affect any of the information published on the intranet
