We have a number of students who, as qualified nurses (diploma holders) are seconded by their NHS trust to study BSc Specialist Community Public Health Nursing full time over two years. They are not eligible for an NHS Bursary and therefore not able to apply for DSA to NHS Bursaries. We have been advising them therefore to apply to SFE for DSA, but one student has recently received notification that her application has been rejected as her course shows as attracting NHS funding. I have written to challenge this, but wonder if anyone else has come across this and managed to resolve the issue.
