Hello all,
I'm trying to confirm that an "occupational therapist" (in my case employed by a public authority) is a "health professional" as per s69 of the DPA. I don't think this role is listed specifically, but occupational health seems to be covered by 69 (1) (h) "any person who is registered as a member of a profession to which the Health Professions Order 2001 for the time being extends". In the "explanatory note" to the Order it does list occupational therapists as a "health profession" (though I can't see the professions listed in the Order itself). Obviously they have to be "registered" also. Is my understanding correct?
