People,
Many years ago in the US a senator at a senate hearing asked a marine Colonel why he had spent so much money on the security of his home after what appeared to be ridiculous threats made against the US by an individual in the middle east when clearly he had no intention or the means to carry them out. The marine Colonel replied that he was truly frightened of this individual referenced and it might be the case that the threats were ridiculous and unlikely but he (the Colonel) could not afford to take the chance. The senator's subsequent comments were far from complimentary to the Colonel.
The individual who had made the threat was Osama Bin Laden. The senator went onto become Vice President of the USA Al Gore. The Colonel was Oliver North.
That same senator when Vice-President pressurized the Israeli government to release a man from custody who clearly posed no threat and accused the Israelis of over reacting. That individual showed his gratitude by flying a passenger plane into the twin towers in New York.
In 1981 Mehmet Ali Agca tried to assassinate Pope John Paul II. About a year before he had ranted that he was going to kill the Pope. No body took him seriously. Two years before he attacked the Pope he had assassinated Abdi Ipecki a Turkish journalist.
Every day at Heathrow Airport alone security are faced with numerous stupid inane comments from travelers about the contents of their luggage and their reason for visiting the UK.
Yesterday at approximately 5-00 near Tower Hill some idiot left a rucksack unattended on a doorstep while he went into a hotel to ask directions. On his return his abuse of two community police officers who had begun to clear the area is what I would call Truly Amazing.
I don't know the circumstances of this tweet referred to but what I do know is that the list is very long of incidents that have occurred because people failed to respond to what appeared to be puerile comments.
The above is just an alternative view of what more than likely was a nothing incident and may have been an over reaction by authority. But remember; the bad guys only have to be lucky once. The good guys have to be lucky all the time.

It is Friday I see.
You are not by any chance suggesting that tweets, twerps, facebook,
emails etc are all monitored by big brother?
Tough. They met their match, equally stupid as them.
Cheers,
Charles
