Hi,
Very interesting documents regarding the transition to the new NHS arrangements, but I would still be interested in the implications of the s75 agreements currently being negotiated between existing PCTs and Local Authorities. Whilst the Clinical Commissioning Groups are taking on the GP based commissioning that the PCTs were responsible for, Local Authorities are taking on the public health side. I was involved in mapping the services for children and families in Trafford which will become the responsibility of the Local Authority, and the s75 agreement is almost complete and will be signed and operational by 1 April.
Funnily enough I'd not made the connection from the mapping of these services to the Information Governance issues! I think this is largely because in Trafford, even where data is used or collected by PCT services (Health Visitors for example), the acute Trust has been responsible for the database they use (HSW). A lot of services are now moving to different partner organisations within the NHS so their systems and ICT solutions will remain within the NHS as far as I know.
I'm not sure if this is the case everywhere tho, so I will be interested to see what comes out of the search for literature/guidance on the subject.
Best wishes,
Michelle Peel
