Oxford Brookes University is looking for an Adviser for Students with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties, SpLD (part-time .8fte)
Starting salary: pro-rata to £28,251, rising annually to £30,870

You will be:
· actively and collaboratively working with the dyslexia team
· liaising internally and externally to provide effective and appropriate advice and guidance
· reading and interpreting diagnostic assessment reports to facilitate individual support and appropriate reasonable adjustments
· providing information, advice, guidance and support to students and staff
· developing own knowledge and understanding of current developments to provide expert up-to-date information and advice
· undertaking initial dyslexia/SpLD screening as appropriate
· actively networking to promote equality, disability legislation and the disability and dyslexia service
You should have:
§ a degree level qualification or equivalent
§ support worker scheme qualification
§ experience of advisory work in post-16 sector
§ a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
§ the ability to carry out pre-assessment screening
§ the ability to communicate effectively and problem-solve independently
§ a proven ability to prioritise, work under pressure and with people in crisis
§ good IT skills
§ a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage own time effectively
§ a demonstrable commitment to equal opportunities
§ a flexible approach to working hours to meet fluctuating demands
