Dear Colleagues,
This is an invitation to disability practitioners to an open meeting to discuss DSA issues.
The occassion of NADP Annual Conference 2010 will assemble many colleagues in one location, so the meeting is convened for Tuesday, June 29th at 5:30pm in the Dorchester Room at the conference venue:
Barcelo Oxford Hotel
Godstow Road
Oxford OX2 8AL
Tel: 01865 489988
RSVP to [log in to unmask] if you wish to attend, submit an agenda item, or even if you wish to participate but cannot attend.
Agenda:
The agenda of the meeting is process oriented, with the aim of facilitating open discussion of issues pertaining to the DSA, with some time to talk them through face to face. The interval between now and the meeting can give place for ideas to emerge, so there is no particular cut-off date for agenda items. However, to facilitate the discussion, specific agenda items are invited now. They can be sent under this heading either to this list or to me off list.
Room booking
There is a booking fee for the room. Colleagues are invited to make a donation towards this cost on the day.
Background and Ethos:
The Disabled Students' Allowances is a distinct feature of disability support work in HE, bringing with it both unique opportunities worth celebrating as well as distinct challenges. This year has seen unprecedented change and we expect further developments in the near future.
Some discussion has taken place around this list (both on and off), which has been a welcome channel for raising issues across the sector. With issues both complex and sensitive at stake, our further care and attention to detail is now called for so that we can better respond to them.
I look forward to meeting you there.
Kind regards,
Penny Georgiou
