I think it all comes down to what is judged as 'reasonable'. As you can see
from the list different places are interpreting this differently.
Even though your college might have millions of pounds in turn over it doesn't
mean there is £20,000 sloshing around as Ros says.
Whatever decision you make I would suggest that you do it alongside more
senior collegues and that decisions (and reasons for) are properly minuted and
documented. I know that many providers do this now so that the disability
adviser isn't left to make these sorts of decisions on their own and potentially
end up in court. I would suggest seeking legal advice through the YorkSJ
solicitors.
