Not connected with the previous question, at least I don't think so!
If a member of the group during an unexpectedly busy period in their
office were asked if it was OK to advise another data controller about
some inaccurate data in the others database; what would the response
be?
I would suggest careful consideration is required in answering that
question as a hurried answer could well compromise the purpose
integrity of something like say, the electoral roll, thereby fatally
undermining the initially fair basis of the social structure.
A suggestion would be to formulate and ask the questions normally
associated with data sharing, as not to could well lead to worrying
undocumented processes, which people say "we do not talk about that"
and when asked about, the response the data protection office were
asked and said it was OK is put forward, and no written answer exists!
If that type of thing has already happened, a suggested resolution
would be to enquire if training has been changed and using a written
response, proceed from there to correct the situation. That assumes of
course you are still in a position to do so.
In my opinion principle four issues deserve more attention than
previously given in many areas, and must be more firmly tied to the
purpose of the data collection(s).
I will not be contributing to the group again for some time now, as
while it remains hot enough here I will be concentrating on decorating
at home.
