Then you should avoid Whitbread hotels, as their policy is to refuse the
room in such circumstances. I know, as it happened to my wife.
In the case of your wife she is under an undoubted legal obligation not
only to produce her passport, but also to tell them where she intends to
spend the next night.

ground of proportionality. In your case she can't rely on EC free
