DDIG Event
Dyslexia and Numeracy
Wednesday 9th July 2008
University of Bath
12:30 to 16:30
This event is the third in a series of three workshops covering different
aspects of dyslexia, dyscalculia and the teaching of mathematics. This
workshop will consider the difficulties dyslexic students may
have with the numerical components of their courses. The workshop will
focus on basic numeracy and will be particularly relevant for those who
support students with numeracy-based material.
The event is designed to be a workshop format, with 2 hours set aside for
working in groups and a relevant task will be set. We hope that the group
situation will provide an opportunity for delegates to develop concrete
strategies and resources that will support students’ learning. We wish to
keep the working groups to a manageable size; consequently there will be
only a very limited number of places available.
Programme:
12:30 - 13:00 Registration
13:00 - 13:40 Presentation and introduction to the task.
