Hi, if this postgraduate degree is offered solely through Utrecht
University (rather than it being a year abroad element of a UK
University course) then surely the student would NOT be eligible for the
DSA?
Also, according to the Erasmus website "Erasmus is a European Commission
exchange programme that enables students in 31 European countries to
study for PART of their degree in another country".
So again, if this is an entire course degree course delivered through
Utrecht, then again, the student may not be eligible for Erasmus
support. We also secured Erasmus funding for a student spending a year
abroad as part of her degree, but this was as part of her UK course. I
don't think it would fund the whole Master's course.

Hello Kath,
His DSA should go with him, and he can also have access to European
funding (Erasmus / Socrates - can't remember which). We had a similar
situation with a blind student doing a year at a French university -
there was money available to cover what her DSA & DLA didn't do - and
she also got some of her travel costs just by nature of being a European
student studying abroad. We had to estimate her likely costs based on
her previous year's study.
In the end she hardly needed the extra.

Subject: Funding in The Netherlands
Dear all
One of our students is intending to go to the Utrecht University to do a
Masters in Criminal Justice and International Human Rights. He has a
visual impairment. Does anybody know of any funding that may be
available for this course -either for fees, living costs or
disability-related funding?
Many thanks in advance
Kind regards
Kath
