we gave them though

Hi Sue,
I didn't do this for Leeds as currently we don't have any students from
that LA that are using our service. However, under the new guidance
notes that were issues for this year the LA can ask us for this
information.
Although we haven't done this for Leeds, we did have to do it for
Wandsworth Council. I sent them a letter with a breakdown of our basic
pay, plus on costs (tax and NI) which I got from HR, we then looked at
how much time our administrator spends on LSA work and worked this out
as a proportion of her salary and devided this by the number of LSA
hours we charged for last year to give us an amount to add on for admin
costs. We also added small charges for trainine and other overhead
costs and I think we added on about 1% of their basic pay. This gave us
the hourly rate.
I didn't give them all the formulas but basically I gave them:
Basic pay
On costs
Admin costs
Training costs
Overheads e.g. paper, power etc.
Total.
It actually meant we increased our charges as a result of this review.
I hope this helps. If I get a student from Leeds, I plan to do the same
thing.
Regards
Pauline

Apologies for cross-posting.
Has anyone seen a letter from Leeds City Council, dated 21/1/08, asking
HEIs to provide them with extensive details about their non-medical
helper schemes? They want a breakdown of all charges, including admin
charges, on-costs, advertising, recruitment etc., and the formula behind
admin charges.
It would take us a long time to breakdown all these costs! Any comments?
