Hi everyone!

Just a reminder to all budding filmmakers to get your applications in for The Shooting Party! We've extended the deadline to THIS FRIDAY - so there's still time to get those creative juices flowing, and send in your ideas!

More info below, and do give me a call/email if you want to find out more.

The Programme
The Shooting Party is a co-production between Maverick Television and Resource Base, building on the collaboration which produced VEE-TV and New Shoots. Last year, New Shoots gave 12 deaf or disabled directors the chance to make their first 24' documentary and see it broadcast on Channel 4. This year, wešre following up its success with The Shooting Party, a new series committed to promoting, supporting and showcasing deaf and disabled talent. For more information about Maverick visit www.mavericktv.co.uk.

The Shooting Party brings together a group of people to explore the real world of film-making. Across the series of 12 programmes, each member of the group gets the opportunity to make one short film a documentary, drama, music video or experimental film - and also helps two other members of the group to make their films. The Shooting Party follows the whole process from first ideas to finished films. Each week a new episode traces the making of one film, and ends with the screening of the short film itself.

We are looking for a diverse group of people with great ideas for short films, plus passion, personality, and the ability to shine on screen as well as off. Previous broadcast and/or film-making experience is welcome but not necessary as training and support will be given - we're looking for people who are creative, imaginative and committed to turning their idea into a finished film. On top of this, we're offering an award of further training in television or film for the winning filmmaker, decided by a panel of industry professionals. The subject of the films can be about anything, but must feel contemporary and original. All applicants must be deaf or disabled and over 18.

Take a look at www.mavericktv.co.uk/theshootingparty where you'll find the application form or give me a call direct, and I'll get all the info out to you.

Best wishes

Poppy
