Summary
We require an enthusiastic person to join our dynamic team in providing a high
quality service to prospective and current disabled students advising on the
provision of support services and facilities within the University. The service
promotes a student centred approach to support provision and achieves this
through close liaison with other support services, academic departments and
external agencies.
The appointee will work closely with the Disability Coordinator and other
colleagues to ensure the delivery of support to a broad range of students, and
will provide advice and information to disabled students, ensuring that they
are able to fully access the opportunities within the University of Sheffield
Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have disability
related experience and/or knowledge, preferably in a HE setting. A sound
understanding of Disability Discrimination legislation, with particular
reference to that concerned with the HE sector is also required.

Summary
The Disability and Dyslexia Support Service requires an enthusiastic person to
join their dynamic team in developing and coordinating the Support Workers’
Service. The postholder will play an important role in the recruitment,
training, supervision and monitoring of support workers and develop and
maintain effective and efficient administrative systems to support this work.
We are seeking an individual with academic or vocational training post-16 and
experience and/or knowledge of relevant student support, preferably in a HE
setting and previous administrative experience. The post is available from 20
August 2007 until 30 September 2008, working 19 hours per week.
