Having just completed the postal vote all ballot papers are checked and
re-checked and tallied with numbers issued. Any discrepancies put in
"doubtful" i.e. if a paper has been defaced i.e. I got one filled in
properly for the local elections but the Parliamentary one was marked
"no thank you". These are kept in case there are any queries.

Well, how would you suggest that electoral fraud be checked.
I cannot as an individual request for information whether you voted. But
it
is clearly important that an election be audited and fraud checked
against.
The normal procedure is to check the numbers of ballot papers counted in
a
polling district against the the numbers issued. If there is more than a
minor discrepancy there would need to be an investigation.
Electoral parties are informed about such things, and there are various
procedures that are undertaken - I have been at a count representing a
political party.
If the discrepancy would not affect the result of the election then it
is
unlikely that any political party would bother contesting the result.
But clearly major fraud is a matter for the Police.

I consider that to be my personal data and see no reason why anyone
should
know whether I vote or not
