Did you know you can by OBR Optical Braille Recognition, a bit like OCR
Optical character Recognition.
I have not use this but people at
http://www.techno-vision.co.uk/obr.htm have been very helpfull in the
past.

I worked for ten years at Chorleywood School for the Blind, and all
public
examinations were taken with the pupils using Perkins Braillers, and
the
scripts were transcribed by the staff, warts and all (the scripts,
that is, not the
staff). For some visually impaired students, that old fashioned
machine is
the natural writing medium.
